How Should We Welcome the Lord When He Comes Knocking at the Door?

Brothers and sisters all have been longing for the Lord to return. The Book of Revelation prophesied: “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). The Lord clearly tells us that when He returns, He will knock on the door for us. So, how will He do it? Could it be that the Lord will knock at our doors one day saying He is the Lord Jesus and then we will open our doors and receive Him? The skit The Lord Is Knocking tells us the true meaning of the Lord knocking at our doors, which will help us not to miss out on the chance to welcome the Lord’s return.

Story of Repentance: Gaining Inspiration From David’s Repentance

Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus said: “Repent you: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). Which is to say, we should confess our sins and repent before God if we want to enter the kingdom of heaven. After confessing previous sins, such sins will be forgiven. We will no longer sin but repent and be born again. This is repentance. At that time, the Lord Jesus taught us to confess our sins and repent, not to commit sins or do evil, but to deny ourselves, take up the cross, and follow Him. And He also required us to love Him with all our heart, soul and mind, to love others as ourselves, to be humble, tolerant and patient, to forgive others seventy times seven times, and so on. These are the ways for man to repent. But what we can’t deny is that even though our sins have been forgiven, our sinful nature still exists; we are unable to practice what the Lord requires of us, and live in a constant situation of committing sins and confessing them. Look at our actual situation: We often tell lies, we can envy and hate others in our hearts that are filled with greed and evil thoughts, and we can also follow the worldly trends and cling to wealth. Especially when we encounter trials or disasters, we can complain against, judge and even betray the Lord.

When Will the Rapture Happen? What Does It Say in God’s Words?

Many of us are yearning for the Lord to return to instantly change our form and bring us into the kingdom of heaven. Are the facts really like this? Has God said that He will change our form and bring us into the kingdom of heaven when He returns? If we study the Bible, we’ll find that God didn’t say that, but He said, “Be you holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:16). “Not every one that said to Me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that does the will of My Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 7:21). God requires us to be holy and to do His will, and only thus will we enter into the kingdom of heaven. However, we still frequently tell lies and commit sins. How can we be qualified to be raptured up into the heavenly kingdom? Would God’s words not contradict our idea that “we’ll instantaneously change form and be raptured into the heavenly kingdom”? How can we be raptured into the kingdom of heaven?

How Can I Rid Myself of the Pain of Emptiness?

Almighty God says, “Without God in his heart, man’s inner world is dark, hopeless and empty. … Science, knowledge, freedom, democracy, leisure, comfort: these bring man only a temporary consolation. Even with these things, man will inevitably sin and bemoan the injustices of society. These things cannot restrain man’s craving and desire to explore. This is because man was made by God and the senseless sacrifices and explorations of man can only lead to more distress and can only cause man to exist in a constant state of fear, not knowing how to face the future of mankind or how to face the path that lies ahead. Man will even come to fear science and knowledge, and fear even more the feeling of emptiness. In this world, regardless of whether you live in a free country or one without human rights, you are utterly incapable of escaping the fate of mankind. Whether you are the ruler or the ruled, you are utterly incapable of escaping the desire to explore the fate, mysteries, and destination of mankind, much less are you capable of escaping the bewildering sense of emptiness. Such phenomena, which are common to all of mankind, are called social phenomena by sociologists, yet no great man can come forth to solve such problems. Man, after all, is man, and the position and life of God cannot be replaced by any man. Mankind does not just require a fair society in which everyone is well-fed and is equal and free; what mankind needs is the salvation of God and His provision of life to them. Only when man receives God’s provision of life and His salvation can the needs, the yearning to explore, and the spiritual emptiness of man be resolved” (“God Presides Over the Fate of All Mankind”).

6 Signs of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Have Appeared

If we carefully study the Bible, we will easily discover that we have made a mistake in welcoming the Lord’s return. That is, we only focus on the prophecies that the Lord will descend on a cloud but neglect other biblical prophecies about His return. For example, “Behold, I come as a thief” (Revelation 16:15). “If therefore you shall not watch, I will come on you as a thief” (Revelation 3:3). “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). Since these verses mention that the Lord will come like a thief, that means that He will come quietly and secretly. If the Lord descended on a cloud and everyone would see Him, how could the prophecies of the Lord returning like a thief be fulfilled? And need the Lord knock at the door?

Sermons on the Names of God: If God’s Name Is Jehovah, Why Then Is He Called Jesus?

For two thousand years, Christians have always prayed in and called upon the Lord Jesus’ name, believing that God’s name will only ever be Jesus. However, it is prophesied in the Book of Revelation, chapter 3, verse 12, that the Lord shall have a new name upon His return. So now that the Lord has returned in the last days, can we still call Him Jesus? What mysteries are hidden within God’s name?

What Is the True Church? 2 Key Points Will Help Us Find It

The church is a place where the people who seek the truth have the church life and pray to and worship God. A true church consists of all those who truly believe in God and have the Holy Spirit’s work. In a true church, the truth is in power. If someone goes against the truth and God’s words and runs wild within the church, he will be driven out of the church. If there are two or three people who have the Holy Spirit’s work in the church and other brothers and sisters agree with and support them, this is a church. But if those two or three people are suppressed and rejected and have no say in the church, then this is not a church, for the Holy Spirit has no way to work. In a church, the people who have the Holy Spirit’s work are in the center and can stand and speak up and lead and support brothers and sisters. Besides, they can take charge of the church work and everyone listens to them. This is a church.

Why Are People Unable to Get Rid of Sin Even After Receiving the Salvation of the Cross?

we know that only those who are cleansed of sin can enter the heavenly kingdom. Then how can we escape the bondage of sin and achieve purification? Let’s read two passages of God’s words, “The majority of men sin in the day only to confess in the evening. This way, even if the sin offering is forever effective for man, it will not be able to save man from sin. Only half the work of salvation has been completed….” “The sins of man were forgiven, and this is because of the work of God’s crucifixion, but man continued to live within the corrupt satanic disposition of old. This being so, man must be completely saved from his corrupt satanic disposition, so that his sinful nature may be completely extirpated, never to develop again, thus enabling the disposition of man to be transformed. This would require man to grasp the path of growth in life, to grasp the way of life, and to grasp the way to change his disposition.

Why Does God Allow Christians to Suffer?

Moses was originally a prince, but shepherded sheep for forty years in the wilderness without anyone even to talk to. His descent from a prince in the palace to a shepherd in the wilderness and forty years’ experience in the wilderness made him achieve the knowledge of God’s almightiness and sovereignty. His knowledge of God gave him the true faith in God. When God commissioned him to lead the Israelites out of Egypt, he could obey God and accept His commission with confidence. Especially when he led the Israelites through the Red Sea, it looked like they were finished because they were caught between the Red Sea in front of them and the Egyptian army behind them. In that situation, what approach did Moses take? He firmly believed that God would surely lead them through His authority and power, so he still prayed to and relied on God with confidence, then lifted the rod and stretched it over the sea. Finally, he saw God’s deeds—the Red Sea was divided and the Israelites safely passed through it. In the end, Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt by faith in God.

Daily Bible Study: Is All Scripture Given by Inspiration of God?

For two thousand years, we have believed in the Lord according to the Bible, and so many of us believe “The Bible represents the Lord, believing in God is believing in the Bible, believing in the Bible is believing in God.” Are these ideas correct? What does believing in God actually mean? What does it mean to believe in the Bible? What is the relationship between the Bible and God? Does blind faith and adoration of the Bible mean that we believe in and worship God?
