The Sky Was Especially Clear and Sunny That Day (Part 1)

Jesus return,

By Tian Ying, China

I used to be a believer in the Three-Self Church in China. When I first started participating in gatherings, the pastors would often say to us, “Brothers and sisters, it is recorded in the Bible that, ‘For with the heart man believes to righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made to salvation’ (Romans 10:10). We’ve been justified due to our faith, and since we believe in Jesus, we have been saved. If we believed in anything else, then we wouldn’t be saved….” Continue reading “The Sky Was Especially Clear and Sunny That Day (Part 1)”

After Listening With My Heart, I Have Welcomed the Lord’s Return

the lord's return,

Max, United States

In 1994, I was born in the United States. My parents are both Chinese. My mother was the classic example of a successful career woman. She is able to think for herself and is very competent. I love my mother very much. When I was in Grade 2, my parents brought me back to China to study so that I would be able to learn Chinese. It was also at that time that I started to get acquainted with the Lord Jesus. Continue reading “After Listening With My Heart, I Have Welcomed the Lord’s Return”

I Learned to Discern Between the True Christ and False Christs and Welcomed the Return of Jesus (Part 2)

Revealing the Pharisees, Distinguish Between the True Christ and False Christs,

By Xiangwang, Malaysia

Brother Zhang continued his fellowship, saying, “God is the truth, the way and the life, and besides discerning between the true Christ and false Christs by the principles of God’s work, we can also discern them by the essence of Christ.” At that point, Brother Zhang sent over a passage of God’s words: “God become flesh is called Christ, and so the Christ that can give people the truth is called God. There is nothing excessive about this, for He possesses the substance of God, and possesses God’s disposition, and wisdom in His work, that are unattainable by man. Those who call themselves Christ, yet cannot do the work of God, are frauds. Christ is not merely the manifestation of God on earth, but also the particular flesh assumed by God as He carries out and completes His work among man. This flesh cannot be supplanted by just any man, but is a flesh that can adequately bear God’s work on earth, and express the disposition of God, and well represent God, and provide man with life. Sooner or later, those who impersonate Christ will all fall, for although they claim to be Christ, they possess none of the substance of Christ. And so I say that the authenticity of Christ cannot be defined by man, but is answered and decided by God Himself” (“Only Christ of the Last Days Can Give Man the Way of Eternal Life” in The Word Appears in the Flesh). I Learned to Discern Between the True Christ and False Christs and Welcomed the Return of Jesus (Part 1)

God's voice, discern the True Christ and False Christs,

By Xiangwang, Malaysia

Editor’s Note: We are now at the crucial time of the Lord’s return. Because they believe in what the pastors and elders say, some believers fear being deceived by false Christs and so have become passive and guarded to the point where, even when they hear someone testifying that the Lord has returned, they still won’t dare to seek the way. Although by doing this they avoid being deceived by false Christs, they also become prone to rejecting the true Christ. So then, how exactly can one welcome the Lord’s return whilst at the same time be on one’s guard against false Christs? Sister Xiangwang found the answer, so let’s have a look together at her experiences. Through the Great Tribulation, I Have Reaped Great Benefits

Religious Persecution, God's salvation,

By Rongguang

God said: “Based on their different functions and testimonies, the overcomers within the kingdom will serve as priests or followers, and all those who are victorious amid tribulation will become the body of priests within the kingdom. … In the body of priests there will be chief priests and priests, and the remainder will be the sons and people of God. This is all determined by their testimonies to God during tribulation; they are not titles that are given at whim”  “God’s Work and Man’s Practice” in The Word Appears in the Flesh Continue reading “Through the Great Tribulation, I Have Reaped Great Benefits”

Why Did the Lord Jesus Say He Is the Lord of the Sabbath?

By Li Qing, China

Early one morning, as I was practicing my spiritual devotions, I saw this written in the Bible: “At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungered, and began to pluck the ears of corn and to eat. But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him, Behold, your disciples do that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath day. But he said to them…. But I say to you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. But if you had known what this means, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, you would not have condemned the guiltless. For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day” (Matthew 12:1–3, 6–8). After reading this passage, I fell into deep thought: “In the Age of Law, Jehovah instructed the common people to keep the Sabbath. On the Sabbath day, the common people were to stop all work; if they did not stop work on that day, then that would be a sin, and they would have to be dealt with. When the Lord Jesus came to perform His work, He no longer kept the Sabbath day, but instead He led the disciples to various places to preach the gospel and to work. Why was this? What warning does the Lord Jesus doing this hold for us?” I pondered this for a long time, but still I didn’t understand.

Relying on God: It is Possible to Get a Good Job Without Flattering People

must accord with God’s words. I must fear God and shun evil, not engage in any satanic life philosophy and not do anything that would bring shame on God’s name.On the first day, the manager arranged a comparatively easy job for Zhang Li. There wasn’t too much work to do, she could do her own thing while at work and she could finish work on time; Zhang Li felt very pleased with this job. But after being there for only two days, the manager arranged for her to work somewhere else which required her to be constantly cleaning. She also had to watch the children at all times and make sure they didn’t go wild, otherwise it was very hard to clean up after them. Zhang Li worked so hard every day that she didn’t even have time to rest.

By Changing the Way I Educated My Son, He and I Got Closer

By Baituo

Editor’s Note: In China, there is a saying that goes, “Grades, grades, grades—a parent’s reason for living.” The words “high grades” exert a strong pull on parents’ hearts. To enable their children to stand out from the crowd and to bring honor to their ancestors, more and more parents are drawing up strict study plans for them. The protagonist of this article was no different, but does this kind of high-pressure education really benefit the child? Let’s look for the answer together as we read through her experiences …

I Put a Lot of Pressure on My Son to Improve His Grades

“Dear Mr. and Mrs. Wang, Wang Dong’s grades are: Math 60%….” As I read the message sent to my cell phone by the teacher, I became a little angry and a little worried, and I thought to myself: “My son’s grades are so poor, how will he ever get into a good college in the future? And if he doesn’t get into a good college, how will he ever find a good job? Now is the critical time for him to lay foundations for his own future. I mustn’t mollycoddle him anymore. I must tutor him in his studies and sign him up for extra lessons. I have to get his grades up!”

I Often Feel Empty Inside, What Should I Do?

By Su Chenyu

I stand on a busy street, listening to the bleating of car horns, watching throngs of pedestrians rush past while buses jam up the intersections, packed like sardines up and down the road. In this sort of environment, the air has a palpable tension. In this age of soaring economic growth, the pace of life has become ever more hectic.

Starting at five o’clock in the morning, the city’s subway starts getting busy. The commotion lasts all day and only in the wee hours do the streets’ crowds begin to thin. Even then, the lights of certain office buildings stay lit throughout the night. People rush about busily, their lives like spinning tops revolving at ever faster speeds. Some people pursue their dreams, moving up the ranks in their fields; Some, in order to provide for their families, work at all hours, never passing up on any opportunity to make money; Others rack their brains researching ways to get rich, so that they can lead lives of luxury … some achieve their desires—for them, the sky is the limit on their road to riches; others aren’t so lucky and their path to prosperity and fame is wracked with repeated failures. Be it celebrities, revered personages, or just everyday people, everyone is fighting and persevering through the suffocating miasma of modern day life, and I was no different.
