The Age of Law: The Aim and Significance of God’s Work

At that time, because of Satan’s corruption, Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s words, becoming sinful. So, God started to do the work of saving mankind. Early in the Age of Law, people were like infants, having no concept of the common sense and rules people should possess, and even less understanding of the concept of sin. In their speech and deeds, they were unrestrained, they acted as they please, and they didn’t consider the consequences at all, just as when Cain killed his brother Abel out of jealousy. So, God proclaimed laws, such as commandments and prohibitions, to regulate human behavior, so that people would know what sin is and what things are cursed by God, and also understand how to live and worship God. After that, the Israelites could live an orderly life, and mankind could survive and develop to the present day.

2. How Do the Wise Virgins Hear the Voice of God and Welcome the Lord?

The Lord Jesus said, “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). It is prophesied in the Book of Revelation, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20).
Almighty God says, “[S]ince we are searching for the footprints of God, it behooves us to search for God’s will, for the words of God, for His utterances—because wherever there are new words spoken by God, the voice of God is there, and wherever there are the footsteps of God, God’s deeds are there. Wherever there is the expression of God, there God appears, and wherever God appears, there the truth, the way, and the life exist. In seeking God’s footprints, you have ignored the words ‘God is the truth, the way, and the life.’ And so, many people, even when they receive the truth, do not believe that they have found God’s footprints, and still less do they acknowledge the appearance of God. What a grave mistake!”

I Finally Understand How Jesus Will Come in the Last Days

We are already in the late stage of the last days, which is the crucial time for Christians to welcome the Lord’s return. Then how will the Lord appear to man? Some say, “The Lord will come with clouds, because the Bible says, ‘Behold, He comes with clouds; and every eye shall see Him’ (Revelation 1:7).” But some others believe that the Lord will come secretly, because the Bible also says: “Behold, I come as a thief” (Revelation 16:15). “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). We believe that these prophecies will all come true, then how will the prophecies about the two ways come true? How exactly will the Lord Jesus come back?

1. What Truly Are the Foolish Virgins?

Revelation prophesies, “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). The Lord Jesus said, “And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom comes; go you out to meet him” (Matthew 25:6). “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me” (John 10:27). It can be seen that in the last days when the Lord returns, He will speak His words to knock at man’s door and look for His sheep. The wise virgins pay attention to listening to the Lord’s voice. When they hear someone testifying the returned Lord’s work and words, they humbly seek and carefully investigate, and follow and obey God after recognizing the voice of the Lord from His words, and now they have greeted the Lord and attended the banquet of the kingdom of heaven. So, the most important thing to be a wise virgin is to listen to the voice of God. Those who do not seek or hear the voice of God are foolish virgins and will eventually be abandoned and eliminated by the Lord.

Someone asks: The Lord Jesus already redeemed mankind in the Age of Grace, and people’s sins that have been forgiven no longer count as sin. Why would God undertake judgment and cleansing work in the last days?

In the last post we mentioned that we were unable to enter the kingdom of heaven if we still lived in corrupt disposition and couldn’t be free from the bondage of sin.
