From the signs such as frequent disasters around the world, many people see that the prophecies of the Lord’s return have basically been fulfilled, so it stands to reason that the Lord should return. Then how exactly will the Lord come again? Some people cling to the idea of the Lord coming with clouds, so they just keep waiting for the Lord to come upon clouds and bring His believers into the kingdom of heaven. In fact, the coming of the Lord in the last days happens in two ways, coming upon a cloud is not the only way, but there is another way of the Lord’s return—coming in secret in the flesh. Just as the Lord Jesus said: “Behold, I come as a thief” (Revelation 16:15). “Be you therefore ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour when you think not” (Luke 12:40). “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear My voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with Me” (Revelation 3:20). The Lord said “as a thief” here, which indicates that the Lord would come quietly and descend secretly and no one would recognize Him even when they saw Him. The “Son of man” refers to a man who is born to a human and has normal humanity. If the Lord first came with clouds and everyone could see Him, then He wouldn’t be likely to come as a thief, and there would be no need for Him to stand at the door and knock. From this we can see that first the Lord will become flesh and arrive in secret and then appear publicly to all mankind when He returns. If we only cling to the one way the Lord will come with clouds, we will surely fail to welcome the Lord.
