Maybe you are still waiting for the Lord to come on a cloud, but do you know? The Lord has become flesh as the Son of man and secretly descended among us, which fulfills the prophecy of the Lord Jesus: “Be you therefore ready also: for the Son of man comes at an hour when you think not” (Luke 12:40). Here, “the Son of man comes” means that when the Lord returns, He will become flesh and come amongst us. As a believer in the Lord, what’s your greatest hope? Many people would answer, “We hope to enter the kingdom of heaven and gain eternal life.” The Lord Jesus said, “But whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14). Based on these words, many people think: As long as we believe in the Lord, we can gain the way to eternal life, and as long as we confess and repent to the Lord according to the Lord’s requirements, make sacrifices and expend for the Lord, and suffer and pay a price to spread the Lord’s gospel, we can enter the kingdom of heaven. But some raise doubts, “Even though we outwardly are capable of some good deeds, it’s also undeniable that we have been bound by sin, and have been living in a condition whereby we sin in the daytime and confess in the evening. The Lord Jesus clearly said, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, Whoever commits sin is the servant of sin. And the servant stays not in the house for ever: but the son stays ever’ (John 8:34–35).
