2021 English Christian Song | “The Reasons Why Job Won God’s Praise”

Job had not seen God’s face or heard the words He spoke,
and much less had he personally experienced God’s work.
And yet his fear of God, his testimony through trials
are seen, admired, envied by all and win the praise of God.
His life was nothing great; an ordinary man.
He’d work all day and rest at night; an average kind of life. What sets Job’s life apart is insight that he gained
into God’s way, His power and rule as no one ever had.
The first reason Job gained these thing beyond all normal people
was his pure heart belonged to God, was led by the Creator.
And reason two was his pursuit, his striving for perfection,
to shun all evil, have God’s love, obey the will of Heaven.
Not born a genius, no strong, tenacious life,
Job had no hidden, special skills,
but in him you could find
a love of all things fair, a kind heart, honesty,
a love of righteousness not found in the majority.
Job saw the line between love and hate,
was unyielding and persistent, instinctively just,
meticulous with the detail in his thinking.
So in his normal life, Job saw God’s holiness.
He saw the wonders God achieved, His greatness, righteousness.
He saw God’s graciousness, how He protected man,
and how He held such honor and supreme authority.
The first reason Job gained these things beyond all normal people
was his pure heart belonged to God, was led by the Creator.
And reason two was his pursuit, his striving for perfection,
to shun all evil, have God’s love, obey the will of Heaven.
If people have humanity, pursuit the same as his,
they can gain realization like Job’s,
understanding and knowledge Job had
of the all-embracing sovereignty of God.
